This is not an attempt to aid anyone else. This party was not formed for the purpose of aiding any other political party. – MJP Leader Dilith Jayaweera

Headlining the motto of ‘Let’s think afresh’ with the aim of building a happy nation and an entrepreneurial state, the Mawbima Janatha Pakshaya’s inaugural district summit was held at the Galle Municipal Council , on the 5th of November. The event was chaired by the party’s leader Mr. Dilith Jayaweera and the president of the party Dr. Sarath Amunugama, and senior leader Hemakumara Nanayakkara as well as numerous members of the Executive Council 05. The event drew a large number of people including those from political, Business and entrepreneurial backgrounds.

There, the leader of Mawbima Janata Party, Mr. Dilith Jayaweera, addressed the people:

I have been involved in national politics for thirty years in numerous ways. If anyone thinks that Dilith Jayaweera is a complete newcomer to politics, then that assumption is incorrect. Today, I have lost a certain amount of my social integrity because I chose to dedicated whole heartedly to national politics. I believe that this is a country that could have been run smoothly. A country that had the potential to successfully implement an economic policy informed by a scientific methodology. All those opportunities were destroyed. And now this camp is at risk of been sold off for cheap. We must insist that we cannot be written off this way. We will not allow the nationalist camp that loves the country to be misused again. I would like to say that from now on, I will continue to commit myself to the creation of a happy nation through the establishment of an entrepreneurial state.

What we are offering you in a unique, yet feasible scientific approach to solve the economic situation faced by our country. This approach will affect your personal economies as well, as is the very nature of building an entrepreneurial state. We are working hard to harness the true potential of Sri Lankans and raise a nation of successful entrepreneurs. In the end this will be our biggest mission. To build a nation that we can proudly claim as our own.

The near future will see Sri Lanka facing several different elections. We would like to stand as a challenge to the traditional political parties, but will ensure that our focus will always be in creating a truly free and independent nation for all.
