According to reports, the Podujana Peramuna’s inner circle has begun discussing the prospect of conducting a general election in the first few months of the following year.
Aside from that, political sources reportedly claim plans to dissolve the government after the upcoming budget session next month.
It is further mentioned that a decision has been made to have a presidential election in September or October of the next year. The decision to hold the aforesaid election was prompted by the inability to organize a general election before December 31.
Nonetheless, the political parties have discussed this matter and have not yet decided whether or not to hold a general election.
