A meeting between the President and members of the SLPP was held at the presidential secretariat.
In addition to the SLPP, Secretary General Sagara Kariyawasam, and MP Sanjeewa Edirimanne attended this meeting, which began at 11.30 AM this morning with the former local government leaders.
Responding to the media, Sagara Karahiyawasam, the Secretary-General, mentioned that the meeting with the President was to alert him to the difficulties that local government members face, who submitted nominations as a result of the prolonged local government election.
