State Minister of Finance, Shehan Semasinghe, has revealed that beneficiaries of the Aswesume welfare benefit scheme will have the opportunity to access their funds through banks starting from either Tuesday (29) or Wednesday (30).
During the initial phase, the number of eligible families for the welfare benefit scheme stands at 800,000.
The Minister says that the necessary funds for distribution will be transferred from the Treasury to the banks today.
Furthermore, State Minister Semasinghe underscored that appeals and objections have been meticulously reviewed as well.
Addressing the payment process, the Minister of State for Finance, emphasized that disbursements related to the month of July will take precedence in this regard.
