Dilip Fonseka of Ceylon Pharma College wins ‘Revolutionary Thinker in Pharmacy and Education’ Award at Asia’s Icon Awards

Dilip Fonseka, the visionary pharmacist behind Ceylon Pharma College, was honoured with the “Revolutionary Thinker in Pharmacy and Education” award at Asia’s Icon Awards. This accolade celebrates his groundbreaking contributions to pharmaceutical education and marks the exceptional growth of Ceylon Pharma College, which has expanded from an initial cohort of 10 students to over 3,000 in just four years.

Founded in 2020, Ceylon Pharma College offers 03 comprehensive courses, including the, Advanced Course in Pharmacy Practice, and Certificate Course in Pharmacy Practice. These programmes provide aspiring pharmacists and healthcare professionals with both theoretical and hands-on skills. The college caters to various needs by providing foundational knowledge for pharmacist exams, practical skills for those looking to work as pharmacist assistants, and essential training for individuals planning to work abroad in healthcare roles like nursing. All study programmes offered by the college courses are accessible to all, with flexible learning options available both online and in person. One standout feature of the college is its Digital Pharmacy portal, which simulates real-life pharmacy operations, allowing students to gain practical experience. Students learn essential pharmacy skills, including reading prescriptions, identifying and storing drugs, dispensing medication, and handling billing, all delivered through an engaging and interactive format. The college also provides students with a study pack, including everything from pens to mobile phone holders. Previously, Ceylon Pharma College received other esteemed honours, such as the “Sri Lanka Best Pharmaceutical Training and Education Institute” at the Asia Miracle Awards, as well as the titles of “Asia’s Best Education Portal” and “Asia’s Innovative Thinker” at Asia Awards.
