Sadaharitha Marks 22nd Anniversary with Unveiling of State- of -the -Art Agarwood Factory

Over the past two decades, Sadaharitha Plantations has evolved into Sri Lanka’s leading commercial forestry management company, consistently setting new standards and driving progress in the industry. As the company celebrates its 22nd anniversary, Sadaharitha proudly announces the grand opening of its state-of-the-art agarwood (oud) processing factory in Kaduwela. The newly-inaugurated factory marks a pivotal step in Sadaharitha’s strategic expansion vision, reinforcing its dedication to providing promised returns to investors and maintaining its position as the market leader. This significant milestone also underscores Sadaharitha’s enduring commitment to excellence in forestry management and highlights the company’s remarkable journey.

This latest achievement follows closely on the heels of Sadaharitha’s recent international success, where the company entered into a landmark agreement with private, federal & state growers in Malaysia to share and sell its proprietary “SP Tech” for the inoculation of agarwood trees. This agreement is expected to significantly impact the global agarwood oil market by 2028, with agarwood oil produced using Sadaharitha’s technology expected to meet up to 30% of the world’s demand. As a result, Sadaharitha expects to generate significant foreign exchange revenue for Sri Lanka through the sale of its intellectual property.

In its 22 years of operation, Sadaharitha has consistently demonstrated its capability and reliability, as evidenced by over 1.5 billion rupees paid to satisfied investors up to now, and over 1 million trees planted. This financial-return-milestone reflects the trust and confidence that clients have placed in Sadaharitha as their preferred investment partner for investments in sustainable commercial forestry. Furthermore, leveraging its decades of experience, innovative and strategic direction, and strong foreign partnerships, Sadaharitha is able to deliver unmatched returns to its customers on their green investments.

Commenting on the occasion, Chairman of the Sadaharitha Group of Companies, Mr Sathis Navarathna said, “Our 22nd anniversary and the opening of our new agarwood factory mark a new chapter in Sadaharitha’s history. This state-of-the-art facility will serve to enhance our production capabilities, whilst simultaneously strengthening our commitment to sustainable and profitable forestry management. We are dedicated to ensuring that our customers continue to receive the best returns on their green investments, and our new factory is symbolic of our strategic vision and future growth trajectory. That’s why Sadaharitha remains the preferred partner for green investments in Sri Lanka with an established track record of delivering the highest possible returns.”

Sadaharitha’s journey has been marked by numerous achievements and a steadfast focus on innovation and sustainability. Sadaharitha’s new factory in Kaduwela is expected to boost supply and bolster foreign exchange earnings for Sri Lanka. Accordingly, Sadaharitha will be able to leverage its new facility to strengthen its position in the international market for agarwood products.

As a pioneer in the industry, Sadaharitha has always been responsive to market requirements, continuously evolving to meet new challenges. The company’s innovative approach and strategic vision have enabled it to remain at the forefront of commercial forestry management. The opening of its new factory thus demonstrates Sadaharitha’s potential for future growth and stability.
