Lanka Special Steels Limited, Sri Lanka’s premier and pioneering manufacturer of hot-dipped galvanized steel wire, with a rich history of over 25 years, recently announced the launch of its flagship international brands of wire, “Lanka Special Steels Ltd Poultry 300” and “Lanka Special Steels Ltd Premium 100”. These high-quality products are designed for use in the poultry industry and for general fencing requirements, respectively. Lanka Special Steels is launching these products for the Indian market, where these use cases are niche markets with few high-quality solutions.
Lanka Special Steels utilizes only premium quality virgin raw materials sourced from reputable suppliers, including JSW Steel, TATA Steel, and Hindustan Zinc, ensuring superior finished products. The Galvanised Steel wires manufactured by Lanka Special Steels find extensive applications across various industries, including poultry enclosures, chain-link fencing, barbed wire, PVC-coated fencing, cable armour wire, ACSR wire, and numerous other diverse applications.
The new lines of “Poultry 300” and “Premium 100” high-quality hot-dipped galvanized steel wire products were officially announced at a press conference held to mark the occasion, where officials from both Lanka Special Steels Limited and Salem Weld Mesh, the Indian Distributor, were present. The panel included, Mr. Pravin De Silva, Director and Chief Executive Officer at Lanka Special Steels, Mr. R. Natarajan, Managing Director of Salem Weld mesh, and Mr. Gayan Pathinayaka, Head of Sales & Marketing at Lanka Special Steels Ltd. The new products will be launched at a special launch event, at the Taj Samudra in Colombo, on the 2nd of March 2024, in the presence of distinguished guests, including key customers from India.

We are also working to establish several material storage yards across strategic locations in India to provide maximum efficiency in distribution, together with the installation of cutting-edge European/Canadian plants and equipment, and with a rich history of two decades of experience to further bolster our exceptional manufacturing capabilities.”

Lanka Special Steels’ hot-dipped galvanized wire products are manufactured in its new state-of-the-art, European-standard facility with a capacity of 30,000Mt per year, while its products are SLS (Sri Lanka Standards) and BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certified. Accordingly, Lanka Special Steels’ manufacturing process holds SLS 139:2003, IS 280:2006 and ISO 9001:2015 certification.
This has earned the company wide recognition including 4 Gold Awards and 1 Bronze Award at the National Convention on Quality and Productivity (NCQP) Awards 2023, organized by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP), along with many other awards and accolades.
