The Meteorological Department has announced that it will rain in several provinces on the island today (29).
Accordingly, the Meteorological Department informs that there may be several periods of rain in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya from time to time. Rain or thundershowers are possible in Uva province and Ampara, Batticaloa, and Mullativu districts in the evening or at night.
They are asking people to aware of possible lightning hazards during heavy thunderstorms.
