Due to the dry and adverse weather conditions in the island, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that drinking water supplies will have to be limited to several districts.
As a response to this condition, Deputy Director General (Planning) of the Water Supply and Drainage Board, Ms. Anoja Kaluarachchi, mentioned that even now, water distribution in several areas, including Kandy and Monaragala, is being done on a shift basis.
She further mentioned that the water supply in Kurunegala City has also been limited.
